Paper Bees

Made-to-order, nearly life-sized bees with wings cut from various hand-drawn and painted papers. Some are in hues of pinks and reds, while others are a combination of blues and purples, and a handful even have gilded elements of gold or silver. You can let me know your wing color palette preference in the Customer Notes, or you can choose the wing pattern as a surprise.

Archival watercolor and printmaking paper, gouache, watercolor, and ink.

Single bees are mounted on a 2 x 2-inch piece of 300 lb. watercolor paper.
Multiple bees are mounted on a 5 x 5-inch piece of 300 lb. watercolor paper.

I’m now offering custom framing for bee orders. You can opt to have your bees mounted in a white shadowbox frame. Frames measure approximately 6 x 6 x 1.5 inches for individual bees and around 9 x 9 x 1.5 for multiple bees. Includes an acid-free mounting board. All framed pieces also come with a certificate of authenticity. Please note how you’d like your bees arranged in the Customer Notes if you order multiple bees in one frame.

Custom orders

Have something special in mind? I accept custom bee orders. Please email me with your ideas. We can start a dialogue about your commission, pricing, and turnaround. I’ll do my best to create your vision.

Shipping + Delivery

Each tiny bee is made-to-order and shipped delicately in a kraft jewelry box—a treasure, indeed. Please allow 2-3 weeks for your bee to ship. You will receive an email notification when your package is on the way.

International orders

I do my best to charge reasonable shipping rates to locations outside the United States. However, the customer is responsible for additional duties and handling fees once the package arrives in its destination country.

For international buyers outside of Canada or Mexico, please email me your country of origin, and I will send you a shipping estimate.

Returns + Exchanges

Custom or made-to-order pieces are not eligible for returns or exchanges. However, if you are not satisfied when your piece arrives or your piece arrives damaged, I will work closely with you to rectify the situation.

Giving back

For each bee order, I am donating $5 to The Bee Conservancy, a nonprofit that protects all bees, safeguards the environment, and builds communities.
